THE Blizzard

Tuesday morning i got a text that said:

CODE BLUE ALERT - Hello USU students, faculty, and staff, this is Judy Crockett, USU Emergency Manager, with a CODE BLUE ALERT. As you know, a major blizzard warning has been issued by the National Weather Service. Due to this severe warning, the USU campus will be closed from 2:00 pm Tuesday November 23, 2010 till 9:00 am Wednesday November 24, 2010 when the university will resume its normal schedule. As of this time the USU vs Utah basketball game is still scheduled. Thank you! Judy Crockett USU Emergency Manager

First thing i did was look out the window! i was expecting to find a black, cloudy sky with snow already falling... but i saw NOTHING of that! Ha i was excited that i didn't have any school, my Thanksgiving break started early, but i didn't believe there was going to be a blizzard!
After spending a whole day of doing nothing i had to go to work at 3. i was there for a total of 40 minutes when they told us to go home!i couldn't believe it when i looked outside! YEP the blizzard was here... and i was driving home in it!
Boy do i hate driving in the snow... and this was ridiculous. I could barely see the car tacks in front of me let alone the car! It took me 40 minutes to get home, on a bad traffic day it is 15 minutes.
you would turn a corner and slip and slide everywhere! The worst of it was going up 4th North. The road was slick and the cars coming down the hill were sliding everywhere! I was going up the hill behind a little car. Well the little car couldn't make it up the hill, it started sliding backward! thankgoodness the road had two lanes! i went around and hoped that i would make it up! By the time i got home my window wipers where having issues, they would get frozen to the window between each wipe! I was so thankful to be home!!
Once home i enjoyed the blizzard, we had a "Pirates of the Caribbean" movie marathon! around 9 we finished and went outside to shovel! we had a dandy time... but to our sadness our snowmen we had made on saturday had died the wind and the snow was too much for them to handle!
