THE room redo

The room before the redo
Everything from the room went to the only empty room in the house... the living room. For a week it wasn't accessible to anyone. Also note that the front door is barricaded :)
It was nice and all organized into boxes too... psych
The empty room before we started the cleaning process.
:) the infamous wax stain. that has been there for a couple years. If you want to hear the story you have to ask Dianne about it
we scrapped the walls, peeled all the tape off, pulled the baseboards off and vacuumed all the floors
it was hard work... and some people got a little tired ;)
we also washed the walls, twice! we were awesome wall washers by the end of all this.
it was so much fun to spend time with my sisters. We spent the whole day washing walls together. Laughing and talking and jamming out to some Taylor Swift! I love my sisters and I am so blessed to have them in my life

when we were cleaning the room we were taking down some of the mirrors... well i broke a couple, i know seven years of bad luck, but we had so much fun with the broken pieces! it entertained us for a good half hour

Finally time to paint! we were so excited. we ended up painting a primer and two top coats!

Mom and I made a good team

My" happy little tree" dedicated to bob ross
Dianne and Kristin painted the baseboards and did a wonderful job! they are such hard workers

We got the walls painted, the baseboards on and the new carpet! i think it turned out wonderfully :)

the finished product! i love it. i think that the Althouse girls did a wonderful job all on their own

Brithday Breakfast

One sunday Katie and I blew up over 65 balloons. (I don't know what I was thinking but I didn't get a picture of all of them together!) Now you might ask why? Why on earth would we blow up that many balloons? But then you'll probably remember that you are asking me that question ;)
Well it's your lucky day and I'll tell you what we did with those balloons. Around midnight we took those balloons, some crate paper, posters, and some manikin legs to two particular houses. Laurie's and Kara's.

Katie and I worked long and hard decorating these houses :) it was a hard task. The wind was blowing, it was starting to rain AND no talking (we didn't want to wake the residents.) By the end of the night the houses looked wonderful! We should have taken a picture of it because by morning everything had fallen down. O well, it's the thought that counts.
We were in cahoots with Laurie's mom. The night before we had called her and said that we were coming to kidnap them fore it was their birthday and we wanted to do something to show them that we remembered and that we're glad we're friends! Katie and I woke up early the next day to go and get the birthday girls for breakfast!

We also decorated the houses with the manikin legs :) you may remember them from last years "Summer in a nutshell" post. We like to use them when pranking

The Laurie and Kara were good sports and kept those cute party hats on the whole day! i love these two girls! i haven't know kara very long but we've already clicked! Laurie has been a sister to me! We've grown up together and i love her! I would do anything for her in a heart beat :)

We decided to take them to Angie's. We had so much fun there and couldn't believe it was 10:30 when we had finished enjoying each others company. Time does fly when your having fun!

All in all it was a wonderful day! Great food and even better friends :)

Man i love this girl :) i love that she does crazy things with me. Whenever i'm with her i know that we'll have a fun time. It's a guarantee, when we hang out, that we'll end up laughing so hard we cry! i don't ever have to worry about my standards being challenged or have to worry about where we are going and what we are doing when i'm with her. We both know how to have fun and we keep each other grounded. She is a wonderful person and i'm so honored that i can call her my friend!

Wedding Day

Yeon Mi Kim is a very close friend to me. She was married in the Salt Lake Temple on August 13th. She asked me to be her braidesmaid and I was honored. I wasn't going to miss this day for anything! It was a beautiful but very hot saturday. I remember sitting outside the busy Salt Lake Temple seeing all the happy people. Newly married couples, proud parents and grandparents, busy photographers, hot crying children that didn't want to pose for any more pictures, but the thing that I saw that touched me the most was a particular group. It was a small family of five all dressed in white. There was no photographer with them and but they were all wearing big beautiful smiles. This group had just been sealed in the temple. It was then that I realized how important the temple is :)
The day went just according to plan. It was wonderful but I can say that by the end of the day I was sure tired
the beautiful Salt Lake Temple
waiting for the bride and groom to come out of the temple

look how happy they are :)

they had cheesecake at the luncheon... yum!

The reception was in Sardine canyon and it was so much fun. I wouldn't change one thing about the day except I wish I would have taken off my heals earlier ;)

crazyness, goodbyes, and rodeos

One thing i love about my friends is that they do crazy with me. I can't count the number of times that my friends and i have done things that were spur of the moment craziness, but were a blast! The other night was one of those nights :) and boy did we enjoy ourselves.
The night after our craziness Le and had a blind date. We were going to the rodeo! We were both so excited to see our dates! I picked up Le and we were on our way to meet the guys at the rodeo! We were so full of energy and anticipation but by the end of the night we were glad to go home. Let's just say that we were both glad that they guys didn't ask for our numbers. We still had a fun time but it could have been a lot better. Anyways here's some pictures of the night! The first picture is of Le :) you can't open the door on the passenger side of my van so i usually get out so they can climb through my door. But that night she decided she wasn't going to walk all the way around to my side haha so she climbs through the window :) funniest moment! The other pictures are of us waiting for our dates and then walking home after.
The next day Le and I decided we got jipped with the rodeo so we wanted to go back again :) We were going to a goodbye dinner for Megan and they after we were all going to party at the fair! It was a great night and it finished with a tramp sleepover! Boy i love summer!
