Chopsticks and Cookies 'n' Cream

Chopsticks are an important part of Asian culture. They come in all shapes and forms, from engraved golden chopsticks to disposable bamboo chopsticks to the free set you get at restaurants. Regardless of the form they take, chopsticks have evolved into an important icon of Asian culture. It is believed the first chopstick were developed over 5000 years ago in China. Early Asian man would retrieve his food from the fires using sticks or branches from broken trees. Later, as the population grew and resources became scarce, people would cute food into smaller pieces to save fuel because the smaller portions cooked faster. This eliminated the need for knives, and chopsticks became the utensil of choice.
I found a fun, cheap package of chopsticks at Walmart and was debating about getting them. I love using chopsticks but I have to admit I am not very good. I was about to walk away when my sister's voice echoed through my head saying "practice makes better!" I then decided this was my destiny! I was going to be a PRO when it comes to using chopsticks. I was going to learn the difficult art of chopsticks-using! I bought the package and gave myself a challenge. I wanted to see how long I could go with ONLY using chopsticks to eat! No forks, knifes or spoons!
The morning of the first day I started out excited and ready to take on this challenge. By the end of day I was frustrated beyond words. I was SO slow and it was driving me crazy! I couldn't pick anything up. I thought I was going to die of frustration or maybe even starvation if this continued. But that day pasted and the second and third day went by smoothly. By the fifth day I was the chopstick master! I could keep eating with chopsticks for the rest of my life. The only problem was I really really wanted some ice cream! I had been craving it since day one! That's all I could think about. ICE CREAM. So a exactly a week after I started my chopsticks challenge, I broke it. I grabbed a spoon and ate some delicious, hard earned Cookies 'n' Cream ice cream :)
